The Minister of Sports in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins, recently made a significant contribution to the Verchilds High School to ensure our star athletes’ performance at the recently concluded Inter High School Championship is duly celebrated. The school is the Alma Mater of St Kitts and Nevis’s Minister of sports. The country is currently hosting several sports events in the country.
Through these events, the country will benefit from a highly trained and developed population which is highly adept in various sports and capable of representing the country in various international and regional sporting events. The Minister of sports and creative economy in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins donated to the Verchilds High School to encourage students to keep up their performance.
Minister of Sports Samal Duggins explained that he was celebrating the achievements of his alma mater and the school in his parliamentary constituency. Verchilds High School secured 36 medals including 12 gold medals. Quite notably, Chesson Liburd took home the title of the fastest male under 18, Darian Stephens – the quickest male under 16 and Tyhrah Charl es – the quickest female under 18 at 400, 200 and 100 m. All these students belonged to the Verchilds High School
Samal Dugguins extended his heartfelt greetings to all the star athletes, their coaches, teachers and the entire community for their performance at the inter-school track and field championship. The Minister of sports has made significant investments in the country’s sports sector in partnership with the government of St Kitts and Nevis. The Minister regularly applauds and encourages the sports stars of the federation through these gestures.
