Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, a St. Peter’s community constituent and the parliamentary representative of the constituency, was one of seventeen community stalwarts whom the Deane Glasford Primary School recognized for their “years of selfless and dedicated service in the Monkey Hill Community.”
The Prime Minister attended the Deane Glasford Primary School’s ICON Awards. The awards ceremony was held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. The school’s hall served as a venue for the event. It formed part of the school’s Black History Month celebration.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew received the award alongside seventeen other community stewards who had contributed immensely to the country’s development. The names of the award recipients include:
- Joycelyn Blanchard, who was awarded for her contributions to the field of healthcare;
- Laurice Hobson received recognition in the field of education;
- Lincoln Bass was lauded for his work in the entertainment sector;
- Maxwell ‘Controller’ Bass was honoured for his contribution to security;
- Jonathon Bass and Mabel Morton were recognized for entrepreneurship;
- Atiba Harris and Shaquille Barzey received applause in the field of sports;
- Patricia Nurse-Clarke was awarded for her contribution to the area of community development;
- Rev. Joseph Edmeade and Archdeacon Isaiah Phillip received an award for their contribution to ecclesiastical affairs;
- Kennedy ‘Natural’ Hazel and Aidan Hendrickson were recognized for their contribution to culture;
- Leon Anthony got applauded for his work in the field of Agriculture,
- Finally, Henry Thomas and Mavis Phillip recieved the award for their work in the environment
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew shared glimpses of the awards ceremony on his social media account. At the same time, he confessed through the social media post that he was proud to recieve recognition from Deane Glasford Primary School.
PM Terrance Drew shared that he counts it as an honour to be recognized by the Deane Glasford Primary School in this light. he further shared that he was grateful to the Principal and staff at the school for this recognition.
