The minister of Agriculture and creative economy, Samal Duggins, has taken to his social media account to share a gratitude post regarding the 90th Anniversary celebration of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party. The political party’s leadership had arranged a thanksgiving service to commemorate the celebration.
Samal Duggins shared an image on his social media account. The image featured all the prominent leaders and senior politicians of the Political Party. In his social media post, he wrote that he was honoured to hear his name being called on the record as one of the elected representatives for the oldest and longest-serving Labour movement in the Caribbean.

Minister of Agriculture Samal Duggins stated in his social media post, “I continue to pay tribute to the great ancestors and the great leaders who have laid the foundation for our nation.” Minister Duggins paid tribute to the political party’s former leaders and prominent personalities, saying, “We are because they were!”
The Political party started as St Kitts and Nevis Workers League in January 1932. The political party will complete 90 years of service on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. The organization was renamed St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party, which turned the worker’s association into a full-fledged political party. St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party have served dutifully in the executive and opposition positions.
Dr Terrance Drew, the current leader of the SKNLP and the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, noted in his anniversary address at the 90th anniversary thanksgiving service that the political party has remained at the helm of change and development in the federation.
He credited the leadership of SKNLP for helping people access basic rights such as Universal Adult Suffrage, Land Ownership, Universal Comprehensive education and much more. The Political party has also served for the longest time in the executive office of St Kitts and Nevis Government.
