The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of education and social development, Geoffrey Hanley, is attending his Inter-Ministerial Committee meeting. This is the first meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister with all of the Government representatives. The Minister of Education met with the various permanent secretaries and chairpersons under the boards under his portfolio.
Dr Geoffrey Hanley shared some glimpses from the event where he shared some glimpses into the event. Deputy PM Hanley talked about the meeting on his social media. According to him, the meeting initiative aimed to draw the concerned authorities’ attention towards the importance of engaging in collaborative work to address issues that impact not only the ministries but also the citizenry of the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Minister of education hosted the meeting on January 24, 2022. The first meeting held for the officials working under the portfolio of Dr Geoffrey Hanley aimed to promote inclusivity and openness among the various departments under Dr Hanley’s jurisdiction. In line with this, the junior Minister and Senator in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Isalean Philip, also attended the meeting.
Junior Minister Phillip says all the departments and ministries are working together to improve system efficiencies and build stronger collaborative co-working relationships. Closer working relationships will facilitate the delivery of more solution-oriented actions to satisfy the needs of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Meanwhile, taking another important step towards transparency, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education has invited all the people of his constituency for a one-on-one meeting. During the interactive session, the people of the constituency will be able to communicate with Dr Hanley, the parliamentary representative for constituency Number 1.
These gestures of Dr Geoffrey Hanley are proof of his and his political party’s commitment towards good and transparent governance. The Minister will host the one-on-one interactive session on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
