St Kitts and Nevis’ Most awaited annual carnival, The Sugar Mas 51, was kickstarted by the Carnival Committee on December 2, 2022. The anticipated celebration and SKNNCC has gained an official water service provider in Island Purified Water Ltd. The institution was added to the list of sponsors after a handover ceremony.
The institution, first established in 1996, has taken on the responsibility of the official water provider for the upcoming Sugar Mas 51 on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
The handing over of the finances between the two organizations, St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee and the Island Purified Water Ltd, took place in the Latter’s office in Basseterre.
As a sponsoring organization’s representative, Manager Murica Powell, attended the event on behalf of Island Purified Water Ltd and gave a cheque of EC$20,000 to the SKNNCC. The cheque was received by Clement Ogarro, the Public Relations Officer for St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC).
The representative of the sponsors, Powell, revealed that the sponsor company is proud to partner with the SKNNCC. Further, The organization hopes to be on board for many upcoming years.
Island Purified Water Ltd is a 100% local water company in St Kitts and Nevis. It is based initially in Newton Ground. The organization has been operating in the local and regional markets for the last twenty-six years. According to the company’s Facebook page, they began working in 1996.
Since their establishment, the Island Purified Water company has provided its patrons with fresh, thirst-quenching water. Further, they can also customize their water bottles for any organization or event.
While accepting the cheque of sponsorship, the Public relations officer Ogarro expressed his admiration for the management of Island Purified Water due to their commitment to the development of the community and the culture of St Kitts and Nevis.
During the event, He revealed that the sponsorship for Sugar Mas 51 would go a long way to help the committee with organizing the best Sugar Mas Carnival in the history of St Kitts Nevis.
The SKNNCC’s Social media post also revealed that the Carnival Village would have only Island Purified Water as bottled water during the Sugar Mas.
Sugar Mas 51 opened on Friday, December 2. The opening event of the carnival was a parade starting from the National Museum and ending at Carnival Village at 5:00 PM.
The spectacular opening ceremony at Carnival Village, dubbed Sugar Mas “Wonderland,” followed the Parade. Following this, The Official Opening Ceremony for the Sugar Mas 51 started at 7:00 PM.
