Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, has taken to his social media to share some updates regarding the Beautification Drive initiative started by the government of St Kitts and Nevis. As per the update shared by Dr Drew, the authorities involved in the beautification drive have begun restoration work on the government headquarters, which houses several important offices for the government establishments for the smooth functionality of administration at St Kitts and Nevis.
Elaborating further on the status of the upgrades and restorations, Prime Minister Drew shared that Craig Edwards, the Owner of Underground Electronic, and his team recommissioned the water fountain in the centre of the government headquarters ground floor.
Reportedly, the fountain was decommissioned for several years and needed urgent restoration. Craig Edwards and his team completed the recommissioning process of the water fountain over the weekend. Reportedly, Energy and water conservation were major considerations for this project.
Meanwhile, Edwards explained that the water fountain would be filled once only upon the initial setup. Following this, the water used in the structure will be recycled. The opening at the central government headquarters allows rainwater to refill the fountain occasionally.
PM Terrance Drew noted that the team had installed a filter pump that is set on a timer. The said timer will go on and off at specific times to preserve Energy. The procedure will help in constantly recycling the water, and further, it will allow the pool to clean itself. Accordingly, it will reduce the risks of flies and mosquitoes.
The team has also set up some lighting in the pool for ambience. The said lighting periodically changes colour. Meanwhile, similar to the setup for the water fountain, the pool lights also use a timer to turn on and off occasionally. The setup will help in conserving Energy.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew’s social media update also shared that the lights in the pool are currently set on red to celebrate Valentine’s. Meanwhile, the lights will change periodically to commemorate various occasions. Dr Terrance Drew noted that the authorities had included an electronic chlorine generator. The generator eliminates the need to use chlorine tablets, as it consistently generates its chlorine to keep away algae and other bacteria.
