Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, extended greetings and congratulations to Joshua Williams for his match in the NFL Super Bowl 57 on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at 7: 30 pm.

PM Terrance Drew took to social media and lauded Joshua Williams for his outstanding achievement. He cited,” Joshua Williams, a citizen of St Kitts and Nevis, will play in the 57th edition of the NFL Super Bowl on the evening of Sunday, February 12 2023. The match will start at 7:30 PM.”

Previously, Williams played for the team of Fayetteville State University. He graduated from the University in 2017. Following this, he was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in April 2022. Currently, Williams plays as a cornerback representing the team.

Joshua Williams is the youngest of three children. He is the son of George Williams’ a former resident of Molineux, St Kitts and Nevis.

In September 2022, the NFL selected more than 200 players, coaches, and other executives to participate in a new player-led initiative. The said initiative celebrated international diversity. Through this, each player was allowed to represent their nationality or cultural heritage.

A total of five Kansas City Chiefs players participated in this initiative. Meanwhile, Joshua Williams plays as a proud representative of our twin islands, St Kitts and Nevis. Additionally, He was the first Fayetteville State player to be invited to the college football Senior Bowl.

An article was published by ABC11 in which they highlighted Joshua Williams. The publication stated that his outstanding performance on the field last Sunday pushed his team to the title game. “Williams made a big fourth-quarter interception for the Chiefs in their 23-20 AFC Championship win against the defending AFC titlist Cincinnati Bengals”.

PM Dr Terrance Drew expressed pleasure and stated that this is an exciting time for all nationals of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

“I extend best wishes to Williams and his family on this outstanding achievement and look forward to a repeat of his remarkable performance in tonight’s game, “said the prime minister.w
