St Kitts and Nevis Minister of Creative industry Samal Duggins made a financial contribution on behalf of the Ministry of Sports to Jahzara Claxton. The West Indies Cricket Board has selected Claxton to play in the West Indies Women’s Under 19 Cricket Team.
In the words of Samal Duggins, Jahzara Claxton is a 16-year-old sporting phenomenon hailing from the federation of St Kitts and Nevis. The “sporting phenomenon” also represents St Kitts and Nevis at the CONCACAF Women’s U20 Championship.
Jahzara is currently with her Under-19 woman’s cricket team as they prepare for their tour of India.
The Minister of Sports and Creative Economy, Samal Duggins, shared the update on his social media account. Minister Duggins revealed that since Jahzara Claxton was otherwise occupied in preparations for her short trip to India, her parents received the contribution of the Ministry of Sports on her behalf.
Further, Minister Duggins has stated that the Ministry of Sports will play a critical role in developing the youth of St Kitts and Nevis. He believes that the people of St Kitts and Nevis are filled with unbound talent.
Further, the Minister has committed to doing everything that he and his ministry can to hone the skills of our young people.
Minister Samal Duggins, along with several ministers of the federation, took to their Facebook account to congratulate the sportswoman on her selection in the Under-19 cricket team.
Further worth a mention that Claxton has been playing Football for St Kitts and Nevis, forward for Newtown United FC and Saint Kitts and Nevis national team.
