Dr Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, has urged the people of the twin islands nation to donate their blood regularly to the various healthcare institutions functional in the federation. Accordingly, the Ministry of Health, which comes under the jurisdiction of PM Dr Drew, has started several initiatives to encourage blood donation.
Prime Minister Drew recently took to his social media account to share glimpses of his visit to the JNF General Hospital, where he participates in the ministry of health’s initiative to increase blood donations. During his visit, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew was accompanied by the minister of public utilities, Konris Maynard, Minister of Sustainable development and constituency empowerment, Senator Joyelle Clarke and Cabinet Secretary Marcus Natta.
According to the update shared by the Minister of Health, Dr Terrance Drew, The Ministry has launched a large-scale blood donation campaign across the nation. This campaign aims to sensitize the public of St Kitts and Nevis on the significance of giving blood. Dr Drew believes that By giving blood you can potentially save a life. Additionally, he has urged the people of St Kitts and Nevis to consider joining the campaign and roll up your sleeves to donate.
Meanwhile, in an update shared by the Senator Joyelle Clarke, she detailed her experience at the blood donation campaign. While accompanying Dr Terrance Drew and the other federal cabinet members, Dr Clarke took the opportunity to donate blood for the campaign.
Minister clarke wrote on her social media update, Today, I joined the members of Cabinet at JNF General Hospital to donate to the Blood Bank.
I gave blood and I was happy to do so. I think everyone should do this as long as they can. As a Cabinet, we thought it would be in the nation’s best interest to lead the initiative in encouraging the public to donate to the Blood Bank.
Her update also featured some images of herself and Cabinet Secretary, Marcus Natta while donating the blood.
