The prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, received a courtesy call from the High Commissioner of India to St Kitts and Nevis, K. J. Srinivasa, The Prime Minister and Minister of national security, Dr Drew, received the guests at the prime Minister’s office in Basettere on Friday, January 10, 2023.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis took to his social media to post an update regarding the meeting. During the meeting, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew warmly greeted his guest, Srinivasa. At the time, the Honorary Consul of India to St Kitts and Nevis, Ramesh Mulkanoor and Orin Roberts Foreign Service Officer, Bilateral Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs accompanied the Indian High Commissioner to St. Kitts and Nevis.
Meanwhile, the two parties, PM Terrance Drew and the Indian representatives, engaged in fruitful discussions regarding several matters of bilateral importance to St Kitts and Nevis and the republic of India during the meeting. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office in the government house. Dr Drew took the opportunity to share some pictures from the event on his social media account.
The two nations share a common history of colonization at the hand of the British Empire. Although no official dates appear on the internet, for when the two countries established official relations, India and St Kitts and Nevis maintain warm diplomatic and business ties with each other.
Accordingly, before their visit to PM Dr Terrance Drew, the Indian High Commissioner to St Kitts and Nevis also made a courtesy call to the newly appointed Governor General of St Kitts and Nevis, Marcella Liburd on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Governor General was sworn into her position in a ceremony hosted on January 31. She greeted the Indian High commissioner and Honorary Consul of India warmly for the courtesy call before they held a brief meeting.
