Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has announced the construction of a new general hospital in St Kitts and Nevis. The Minister of Health, during his national address on July 7, called this a crucial development for the healthcare sector of the country.

The development of the St Kitts and Nevis Healthcare sector is a priority for the government led by Dr Drew and the team has been implementing several new measures to attain this goal. During the National address, the Prime Minister said that they are very close to delivering a state of the art healthcare facility to the people of St Kitts.

This healthcare facility is being constructed in partnership with the Republic of China (Taiwan) and has been in comparatively advanced stages. Prime Minister Terrance Drew has shared that the new hospital facility will incorporate solar energy systems.

The new state of the art facility will also be equipped in rainwater harvesting and backup renewable energy storage. The facility will be constructed with the Sustainable Island State Agenda in central focus.

The site for the new hospital premises is already being prepared for the process of construction. The officials have also shared that the new hospital will have a number of new facilities and .

The Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew noted that the new facility will have an emergency department. The people can take advantage of an expanded surgical and maternity wards in the new health facility.

There will also be a dedicated center for diagnostic imaging and a digital medical record system. Before the end of the year, the construction for the new hospital will begin bringing the people of the island closer to getting their dream.

The Prime Minister and Minister of Health Dr Terrance Drew called this one of the most ambitious Healthcare projects in the history of St Kitts and Nevis. The organization has shared that it is crucial for the leadership to make sure that they deliver on their promises and provide the highest quality of healthcare to the people.
