The Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins called the young faces of St Kitts and Nevis the “future leaders” of the island nation. He encouraged all the students to believe in their power, dream big with a vision to lead St Kitts and Nevis towards growth and development.
The Federal’s Cabinet Members concluded this year’s Independence school tours on Tuesday, 17th September 2024. Minister Samal Duggins actively participated in these school visits, clicked several pictures standing beside children, enjoyed participating in several activities which were conducted to test and enhance the knowledge and skills of each student.
Minister Samal Duggins referred these school visits an interactive way of engaging with the future leaders, creators, and sports icons. He stated that such tour ignites a sense of pride and assurance that the future of the country lies in the right and bright hands.
He shared his pictures interacting with the students during school tours and referred these students, “the bright future of the country.” He therefore motivated all the young minds to dream boldly and make every possible effort to turn their aspirations into a reality.
Minister Duggins noted that these young people are the ones who will carry forward the dreams and aspirations of several citizens of St Kitts and Nevis. He stated that there is a lot that world offers but asked them to never follow the shadows of crime and violence.
With a vision to inspire the students, Minister Duggins shared his journey and stated that he grew up on the same streets, walked the same paths, and faced the same struggles that these young individuals are facing today. He asserted that his journey symbolises that a person can achieve anything when he or she works hard towards his goals and chase after their dreams.
As, St Kitts and Nevis is celebrating its 41st anniversary of Independence, Minister Samal Duggins reminded every child that this is their journey as well. He added that it is a part of their legacy and the future depends on them. He further added that he is not just a minister but a reflection of the greatness that lies within each of the young mind.
Notably, St Kitts and Nevis is celebrating their 41st anniversary of Independence under the theme “Together, a People, Proud and Strong: Independence 41.” This theme shed light on celebrating the collective achievements and to continue building a future which is filled with hope and togetherness.
