St Kitts and Nevis is celebrating young cricket, football and sports legend Jahzara Claxton on her 20th birthday. The young girl, who has been representing the federation at several sporting events across the region and even internationally plays football and cricket.
She is also a highly talented track and field athlete and has represented the twin island federation at various platforms.
Having turned 20 on March 12, she is being celebrated by the people of the country as well as the rest of the region. Claxton who was called into the West Indies Under 19 Women’s Team in 2025 received Birthday wishes from Windies Cricket.
Claxton plays as a forward for Newtown United FC and is also a prominent member of the Kitts and Nevis women’s national team. She has played football domestically for St Kitts and Nevis however she is most well known for her career in Cricket.
In cricket, she plays as a left-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler. She is a part of the Women’s Cricket Team for Leeward Islands. She has also played cricket for West Indies Under-19s.
Jahzara was the first ever female cricketer from the Leeward Islands to be selected for the West Indies U19 squad. She has brought significant laurels to the country with her performance as a bowler for the Windies Women’s Under 19 Squad.
She is the first female cricketer from St Kitts to represent the federation internationally. Her first international cricket match was for a series of matches against England.
Since 2022, she has also been a part of the Barbados Royals Cricket Team for the Caribbean Premier League. The team has also extended their wishes to Claxton on her special day.
She is a beloved cricketer with scores of supporters and fans across St Kitts and Nevis and the rest of the region.
