54 year old actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner drowns in Costa Rica

Malcolm-Jamal Warner has died as a result of an accidental drowning at Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast on Sunday. The actor was 54 at the time of his death and was most memorable for his role on The Cosby show where he played a teen Theo Huxtable.

Warner was swimming at Playa Cocles in Limon province in the afternoon hours of Sunday when the current rose and pulled him in. The 54 year old actor lost control and drowned in the current while swimming.

The people who were on the beach at the time of the drowning tried to rescue the actor but were unable to succeed as the authorities later found him without vitals. Costa Rica Red Cross confirmed that Malcolm-Jamal Warner did not exhibit any vitals and transported him to the hospital.

The confirmation of the actor’s death came in the morning of Monday when Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Department made it public. The victim was a popular face in American households in the mid 80s to early 90s.

The show for which Malcolm-Jamal Warner was prominent aired Between 1984 to 1992 and made him popular among families across the nation. The talent of the actor was hailed with an award for the best supporting actor in the series.

The artist appeared in all 197 episodes which aired over the course of eight years and as many seasons.

The death of the 54 year old has been garnering attention with his former co-star, Tracee Eli Ross took to her social media to extend her condolences and grief on the untimely death of the actor.

He played several notable roles in several other projects over the years and has many accolades to his name including a grammy award. The actor was OJ Simpson’s friend in American Crime Story and served as a series regular in the Fox’s Medical Drama, The resident.

His co stars have poured their condolences over the death of Warner all over the social media.
