The Ambassador of St Kitts and Nevis to South Africa, Verna Mills who took charge of her position in March, recently paid a courtesy call on the Chargé d’affaires of the Republic of Honduras, Alams Armando Espinal Zuñiga. She also met Ambassador Maher El-Adawy at the Egyptian Ambassy. The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Denzil Douglas, took to his social media account to share an update on the meeting.
He also shared some images from the meeting between the two ambassadors. Dr Douglas expressed pride on Ambassador Verna Mills working diligently to promote the international relations of St Kitts and Nevis with the various partnering nations across the globe.
Ambassador Verna Mills assumed her responsibilities of the ministership in March. Since March, she has served South Africa as a representative of St Kitts and Nevis. Meanwhile, the two ambassadors discussed participation in the 2023 Diplomatic Week and other areas of interest to strengthen relations between CARICOM and Central American groups of Ambassadors in Havana.
Following the meeting with Espinal Zuñiga, Ambassador Mills visited the Egyptian Embassy. At the Embassy Ambassador, Maher El-Adawy welcomed her for a brief and crucial discussion. During the brief encounter, both Ambassadors discussed the 2023 Diplomatic Week scheduled for later this month in Basseterre.
Over the past two weeks, Ambassador Mills has engaged some of her counterparts, Ambassadors, to encourage them to participate in the 2023 Diplomatic Week in Basseterre, St. Kitts. Ambassador Verna Mills met with Theodora Mircea, Ambassador of Romania, on Wednesday, March 29, to seek her participation in the upcoming Diplomatic Week.
The Diplomatic Week is hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis from 23-28 April. The event will welcome diplomats and ambassadors from across the globe who share a warm relationship with the twin island federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
The event wil further serve to strengthen the relationship between St Kitts and Nevis and the other attending nations.
