The federal cabinet of St Kitts and Nevis, under the leadership of Dr Terrance Drew, engaged in a two-day training programme. The training started on Thursday, February 23 and will conclude on February 24. Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Drew, took to his social media to share some glimpses into the proceedings of the training sessions.
The leader of the cabinet and Prime Minister of the country, Dr Terrance Drew, announced that these training sessions are the government’s effort to further its good governance agenda. In line with the same, the government has initiated several training initiatives.
The training for the members of the federal cabinet of St Kitts and Nevis focuses on a myriad of topics, including promoting good governance; effective public sector management, ethics and integrity; and leadership competencies.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew announced that Ambassadors Kenneth Douglas and Leon Natta-Nelson were invited to participate in the sessions. The training session is facilitated by the Dr. Roger Koranteng, Adviser and Head of Public Sector Governance at the Commonwealth Secretariat.
The two day training sessions will help the members of the executive arm of the government got the chance to develop themselves in their various fields of service. The cabinet members will get valuable lessons in Good governance, one of the government’s foremost mandates.
The government led by PM Terrance Drew has recently passed three good governance bills , including the Anti Corruption Bill, Freedom of Information and Integrity in Public Life bills into laws during the recent national assembly sitting, on February 22, 2023. the trainings will also assist the effective implementation of good governance
The government has arranged similar training initiatives for the high level government officials including the directors, permanent secretaries and heads of departments in St Kitts and Nevis. The trainings were held from february 13 to February 17 and February 21 and 22, 2023.
