Basseterre, St Kitts: The theme for the 41st Anniversary of Independence for St. Kitts and Nevis has been revealed. “Together, a People, Proud and Strong: Independence 41,” is the new theme.

The announcement of the theme was made by the government on July 5, 2024. The theme has been crafted by Vincia Alexander of Lime Kiln Project Extension, St. Kitts from over 200 outstanding entries in this year’s Independence Theme Competition.

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew unveiled the theme on a Friday sitting of the National Assembly. He extended congratulations to Vincia Alexander, the winner and said that the theme reflects the true essence of the island’s identity.

It is a call to celebrate the collective achievements and to continue building a future filled with hope and togetherness, PM Drew added.

The 41st anniversary of the St. Kitts and Nevis Independence will be celebrated in the coming month of September 2024 with month-long events, that will aim to build a stronger and more united future. The celebration will feature activities filled with ultimate culture showcase, community events and educational programmes.

The Independence 41 Organising Committee, chaired by Dr Marcus L. Natta, Cabinet Secretary, and Viera Galloway, Director in the Prime Minister’s Office, is dedicated to organising an unforgettable series of events.

The entire nation of St. Kitts and Nevis has been invited to join in for the celebrations and the Prime Minister also added that the activities will mark the significant milestone in the history of the country.

The 41 years of independence will be celebrated by recalling the struggle of the national heroes and the people who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.

The celebration also promises a period of reflection, pride and joyous festivities that will display the enduring spirit of St. Kitts and Nevis.

PM Drew also added that the theme will resonate deeply with the spirit of the nation and will highlight the strength found in the togetherness and the pride that comes from the shared achievements.
