Antigua and Barbuda: Chef Ronald Wilson and Chef Jean-Pierre Tuitt, two well-renowned chefs from Antigua and Barbuda are all set to represent their nation and compete at the 10th Annual Nevis Mango Festival.
The announcement about their competition was made by Antigua and Barbuda Tourism and Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association through their official social media handle on 4 July, 2024.
The sponsors expressed their feeling of thrill to witness the two culinary stars, Chef Wilson and Tuitt, represent Antigua and Barbuda and compete at the 10th edition of the Annual Nevis Mango Festival.
The announcers also enlightened the people with the special insights about the two renowned chefs.
They mentioned that Chef Ronald Wilson will lead the team as Head Chef and he was also named the Chef of the Year 2023 at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Awards Gala. Additionally, he is the ‘Chef de Cuisine’ which means the Head Chef at Blue Waters Hotel.
And Chef Jean-Pierre Tuitt, will function as Sous Chef for the competition. Chef Tuitt also earned the recognition of Young Chef of the Year 2023 at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Awards Gala. He is Junior Sous Chef at Jumby bay Island Resort.
It is also to be noted that under the expertise of Chef Olvanah Richardson-Burnette who is serving as the Executive Sous Chef at the Blue Waters Resort & Spa and Jesse Thomas, Director of Agri-Tourism at Ministry of Tourism, the team has been preparing diligently for the sweet competition.
The Ministry of Tourism of Antigua and Barbuda also appealed the people not to miss out on the culinary showdown taking place on Sunday, July 7. The competition will commence with Plant Based Round and then a Mystery Basket Round.
The ministry wished the competitors all the best for the delicious showdown.
The Nevis Mango Festival has commenced on Thursday, 5 July and will continue till July 7. The festival is a testament of the culture and celebration of the island’s most priced yet the most loved fruit- Mango.
