Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Terrance Drew recently hosted an interaction session with the youth of the country. The youngsters came together for national consultation ahead of the 2024 budget of St Kitts and Nevis. The event was held on October 11 at the St Kitts Marriott Resort Ballroom. 

The aim of the national interactive sessions was to include the youngsters in critical developmental decisions of the country. As per the prime minister Dr Terrance Drew, the youngsters of the country are an extremely important part of the country’s developmental strategies. 

He claimed that they are the architects of the nation’s future. Accordingly, their opinion in the various developmental initiatives taken up by the government is of utmost importance. He shared that he was extremely pleased with the turnout of youths at the event.

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew shared some glimpses of the event on his social media. He stated that the National Consultation which took place on Wednesday, October 11, was an excellent opportunity to engage with our nation’s youth. The interaction was dubbed “Transformation to a Sustainable Island State: A Conversation with the Nation’s Youth”. 

Dr Drew asserted that the young people of St Kitts and Nevis hold the key to our progress as a nation. He added that he is making every possible effort to include the youth in prominent decisions of nation building. He said, “I am always grateful for any opportunity to amplify their voices, nurture their ideas, and engage them in the heart of high-level governmental discussions.”

Additionally,  the prime minister asserted that he is looking forward to host and be a part of more such initiatives. Ahead of the 2024 budget, Dr Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance will host consultations with more stakeholders and section of the society to get their opinion on how they can move forward in their mandate of transforming into a sustainable island state.
