The St Peter’s Health Center is hosting a men’s health fair to bring attention to an often overlooked aspect of male health. The Health Center is organizing an event for the benefit of the men of the community and inviting them to participate wholeheartedly.

The theme of the health fair is: Healthy Men, Resilient Community- It starts with You !

The organization has shared that the health of men is equally as important as the health of women in the country and the men also have to prioritize their physical and emotional well-being. A study conducted by PAHO and WHO suggests that men are less likely to seek out medical treatment in the absence of concerning symptoms.

The practice is detrimental to the long term health goals of the country and the individual. The health stakeholders have shared that the practice needs to be changed among men to encourage them to seek medical help and support. The St Peter’s Health Center is urging the men in the country to work with the people to make sure that they take time to get medical check ups and regular screenings

At the Men’s Health Fair, which is being hosted on July 11, the men can get facilities like:

  • Blood Pressure Screening
  • Blood Sugar Testing
  • Prostate (PSA) Testing
  • Weight/ BMI Analysis
  • HIV Testing
  • Nutrition Counselling
  • Mental Health Screening.

More tests and screenings will also be available as a part of the Men’s Health Fair. The health fair will start at approximately 9:30 AM and conclude at 5:00 PM in the evening. Full the whole day, male population can reach out and seek medical support for their concerns.

Many of the tests which are available as part of the Health Fair are precautionary in nature and will help the patients in avoiding future health concerns. The HIV, Mental Health and Prostate Screenings are important for the overall public health of the country.

The Men’s health fair is an opportunity for men to understand the importance of their own health.
