The St Kitts department of Youth Empowerment celebrated Mothers Day across the five zones of the island on the island. Mothers day is celebrated on the second sunday of the month of May. Accordingly, St Kitts and Nevis honored the mothers of the nation with several events and celebrations hosted in their honor.
For the St Kitts Department of Youth Empowerment, The celebrations for mothers day started on Friday May 12 they gifted one young mother from each of the five zones with a special token. They could add these tokens to their Mother’s Day Celebrations. The first recipient of the Mothers Day token was Omerlyn Fough of Zone 1. Omerlyn also shared a special advice to other mothers.
She urged them to “Always be supportive. Spend quality with them because time lost cannot be regained”. Token was presented by Youth Officer, Giselle Crooke.
Che’rane Fyfield of Zone 2 won the second mothers day token. Meanwhile, Sandrine Richards received the token from Zone 3. Sandrine’s advice to other mothers is to “Spend quality time with your children, work hard to provide for their needs and not wants”.

Kyla Huggins of Zone 4 was the next recipient of the mothers day tokens
Kyla’s advice to other mothers is to… “Have patience, make time to spend with them and make time to bond properly.” Finally, Shanika French of Zone 5 won the final token of honor for the celebration and honor of herself as a mother.
Shanika’s advice to other mothers is “We cannot pour from an empty cup it is quite fine to make yourself a priority and not always be ‘SuperMom‘. I encourage you to normalize self-care in your lives and just be the BEST mother that you can be unapologetically”.
