The prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, took to his social media account to share his wishes on mothers day. The international community celebrates mothers Day on the second Sunday of May. Accordingly, the 2023 edition of the occasion was celebrated on May 14, 2023. On occasion, Prime Minister Drew celebrates and honours the mothers of his constituency through various initiatives.
Recently, he took to his social media account to share his wishes for the mothers of his constituency and the whole federation. The Prime Minister shared an image of himself posing with his mother. He shared a heartfelt message in honour of all the mothers in the federation, paying a special tribute to his own mother.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew wrote on his social media that Today, Mother’s Day, is when we celebrate Motherhood and give honour for the sacrifice, love, and effort of those who gave us life. I like to think of it as a Thanksgiving Day specifically for Mothers, the pillars of our families…the binding force that keeps the family intact.
The very word mother conjures up memories of love and care. I am filled with gratitude as I am also mindful of the many mothers who extend themselves to their limits to love and support their families. My mother, Ras Gerzel “Pet” Mills, is a perfect example of selfless love. Anyone who knows me knows that I cherish my mother dearly.
Talking about his mother, Dr Terrance Drew stated that she taught me to learn from mistakes, to fight for what I believe in, and to care for others. She is the only constant in this ever-changing world. As a single mother, she has sacrificed tremendously to love and support her family. With the little that she had, she made a huge difference in our lives. Her love for us is immeasurable, and she always protects us. It is indeed true that a mother is the first philosopher, guide, teacher, and friend.
The year prior, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew celebrated mothers day by delivering and distributing cakes to the mothers in his constituency.
