St. Kitts and Nevis’ very own National Carnival Queen, Nekirah Nicholls is all set to compete in the Miss Jaycees International Queen. The pageant will be held in Carnival City, ARG, on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
As the world returns to a semblance of normalcy, after the global Covid-19 pandemic finally calms to a manageable level, Antigua and Barbuda is ready to host Miss Jaycees International Queen after a hiatus of two long years. Seven countries will compete in this dynamic display of culture, beauty and intelligence.
The 59th chapter of the Miss Jaycees International Pageant will be hosted under the theme, ‘Unleashing the potential within, through resilience and determination.’
Contestants from seven countries will compete, namely Antigua and Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Haiti, Montserrat, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.
Nekirah Nicholls, National Carnival Queen of St Kitts and Nevis, had won five of the seven judged segments at the Sugar Mas pageant in the December of 2021
She won the titles of Best Question & Answer, Best Interview, Best Swimsuit, Best Talent and Best Evening Gown in the said competitions. Nicholls is said to be one of the front runners for the upcoming pageant.
On Sunday, July 24, 2022, Nekirah Nicholls travelled to Antigua to represent the twin-island Federation of St Kitts and Nevis in the Miss Jaycees Queen Show. She is being sponsored for the pageant by the St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee and is ready to bring the crown back home to St Kitts and Nevis after eight years.
The last contestant who represented St. Kitts and Nevis in the competition was Tawanna Collins, who competed in the pageant in 2019.
Kaeve Armstrong participated in the Miss Jaycees International Queen pageant in 2014. 2014 was also last year when a competitor from St Kitts and Nevis won the crown of Miss Jaycees International Queen
In the past years, Nicole Gumbs and Iantavian Queeley, who represented St. Kitts and Nevis in 2001, and 2011 respectively, were also declared the winners of the Miss Jaycees crown.
Kaeve Armstrong and Iantavian Queeley were chaperoned by Ozelle Martin of Glittering Reign Pageant Consultancy, who is also the chaperone of this year’s contestant, Nicholls.
