The nomination day in St Kitts and Nevis was a great success as it saw significant leaders from various political parties of St Kitts and Nevis file nominations from the different constituencies. Prominent leaders, including Dr Terrance Drew, Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley, Dr Timothy Harris and others, shared a glimpse of “Nomination Day” on social media.
Political parties held nomination day rallies, gathering support for their representatives. The political parties shared photographs and updates of the events from the various constituencies on their Social Media Profiles.
Supporters of the political parties showed up at the designated places where the candidates were filing their nominations, showing their support for the political parties in the General Election that will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022.
The political parties have been posting on their Social Media, hyping up their political agenda, vision for the future, political manifestos, and promises to the public. Prominent St Kitts and Nevis leaders have shared videos urging the public to vote for them in the upcoming elections.
People’s Labour Party leader and the current Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Timothy Harris, took to his Twitter and Facebook profile sharing regular updates from the nomination day, regarding the nominations of the candidates from the different constituencies. People’s Labour party also held a Nomination Day Rally on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
Prominent Opposition Leader Dr Terrance Drew addressed the public via a radio broadcast, helmed by three local radio stations, on Monday, July 25, 2022. In this address, he urged the masses to vote for his Political Party, St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party or SKNLP, in the upcoming general elections. He filed his nomination at the St. Peter’s Community Center from Constituency 8, after which he took to his social media, expressing his gratitude for the love and support that he continues to receive from the people of St Kitts and Nevis.
Premier Mark Brentley of the Concerned Citizens Movement also posted photographs and videos of the procedures of the nomination day on his Facebook profile while urging the people of St Kitts and Nevis to vote for CCM.
In a subsequent post on his Facebook profile, he posted an image with the words: There is a lot of chatter about polls, pollsters and pundits. The great CCM party does not rely on polls. We rely on people. We keep in touch with the people. In Nevis, polls and Pundits don’t vote, people vote, and in the Nevisian people, I repose fullest trust and confidence.
He urged that he has complete faith in the people of St Kitts and Nevis and urged them to vote for the CCM on the day of the General Elections in St Kitts and Nevis.
