St Kitts and Nevis: Nevis’ very own Royston Queeley has won the Buss-A-Pot Cooking Competition with his well-executed ‘Rabbit Dish’ in “Hop to Eat” edition, held on Saturday, November 9, 2024.
The Ministry of Social Development and Gender Affairs organised this event as a part of their celebration of the Men’s Month which is being held under the theme “Men Can Cook,” encouraging the cooking skills of men.
Significantly, the event featured five male chef participants from across the Federation and the participants created creative dishes using local and natural products, promoting 25 by 25 agenda of the government.
Royston Queeley assisted by Adonis Rivers stood first amongst the five participants as he showcased his ‘Rabbit Dish’ which was a perfect combination of flavours and presentation. On his win, Royston was awarded with the cheque of ECD 1000 by the organisation.
Notably, the second position in the cooking competition was secured by Kadean Hamilton and the third position was bagged by Shemar Nelson as they delivered superb culinary delights.
The fourth place was won by King Balang who was assisted by Chris Roberts and the fifth place winner was Mahon Liburd.

The Ministry of Social Development and Gender Affairs shared the highlights of the event and award giving ceremony, extending congratulations to all the winners and mentioned, “Men indeed can cook.”
The judges for the 2024 edition which was the third edition of Buss-A-Pot Cooking Competition were three chefs including Michael Henville, Peter Marshall, and Renaldo Mills. The entertainment for the evening of the event was handled by DJ Kranberry at 17 degrees, Victoria Road from 1 pm to 6 pm.
The second edition of the competition was held on November 12, 2023 which also featured five contestants male chef contestants. The participants were Kevin Sunders, Imran Francis, Sanjay Caines, Shamar Nelson and King Blang and the dish named “De Ram Goat Cook-Off” made by Imran Francis stood out best in the competition.
