The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew is hosting the Pre Labour Day meeting in his home constituency, Constituency Number 8. The meeting was hosted on Sunday, April 23, at the St Peter’s Constituency office. The meeting served as an opportunity for Dr Drew to interact and engage with the people of his constituency.
The pre-labour Day meeting is part of a lineup of events that the nation’s political party has arranged to commemorate Labour Day. During the event, Dr Drew applauded his constituency’s people for helping create history in the August 2022 elections. He thanked them for electing him with a clean sweep victory in all the ballot boxes.
Dr Terrance Drew added his sincere gratitude for the overwhelming and strong support he recieved from his constituency’s people after the elections. Dr Terrance Drew asserted that the political party and the government of St Kitts and Nevis had registered several achievements during the tenure since August 2022.
He addressed the people of Constituency Eight, asserting they made the right choice by choosing St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party government over the earlier government, which did not deliver for them. The former administration of St Kitts and Nevis was in power for the last seven years. However, they did not significantly advance the country’s economy. The Leader of the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party accordingly asserted that they were a corrupt government.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew then went on to recollect all the work that needed to be done. These include increased corruption, lack of medical infrastructure, lack of educational opportunities, no minimum wage increase, and lack of airlift opportunities. Dr Drew reiterated that the government did not deliver for the people; However, the labour government, led by him and his comrades, has made several critical advancements.
The Prime Minister recently welcomed several specialists in the medical fraternity to St Kitts and Nevis. They have also added several new flights to the lineup of airlift capabilities of the country.
