The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently attended a joint meeting with the St Kitts Nursing fraternity members. The Prime Minister addressed the high-level staff of the nursing fraternity at the First Joint Senior Nurse Manager’s Meeting.

The event also served as the opportunity for the Introduction to Leadership Course. Both leadership meetings and introductions were held at Joseph N France General Hospital, St Kitts and Nevis.

Dr Drew is the health minister in the Government of St Kitts and Nevis. He took to his social media account to share glimpses of the event on her social media account. Accordingly, Prime Minister Drew took to his social media account to applaud and commend St Kitts and Nevis Nursing fraternity for their service to the nation.

Since he was a practising Doctor before he ventured into politics, Dr Terrance Drew understands the role of prominence that the nursing staff of St Kitts and Nevis plays in the deliverance of healthcare on the island. Accordingly, He wrote on his social media account that Nursing leadership directly impacts the thrust of any health organization, its effectiveness, and caregivers and patients alike.

According to Dr Drew, Nurses are essentially the backbone of every healthcare institution. Accordingly, he assured the Government that the Government intends to upgrade our healthcare sector to ensure every citizen and resident has access to world-class medical technologies and care.

According to Dr Terrance Drew, One of the major healthcare investments would be Institutional Enhancement Projects. This includes incentivizing the medical staff through development initiatives to boost morale and correct the discrepancies within the sector. The Prime Minister informed the people of his country that the Government cares.

He shared that his Government empathizes with your plight and endeavour to resolve the issues one step at a time. The prime Minister is highly committed to engaging with the various members of the Healthcare sector, including doctors, nurses, technicians and other staff. Accordingly, he has hosted several meetings with various healthcare community members.

Recently, he addressed the members of the nursing fraternity in a similar meeting. The attendants and Dr Terrance Drew discussed several issues and grievances of the nursing team and committed to making critical changes and advancements needed for the community.
