The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, met with the Minister of Tourism for Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Agil Al-Khateeb. The minister is a Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD). A delegation accompanies the Minister of Tourism in the government of Saudi Arabia to the meeting. The minister met with Dr Drew on Thursday, May 25, 2023. The Prime Minister shared some glimpses from the meeting on his social media account.
According to the account shared by the leader of the St Kitts and Nevis government, the cabinet and other prominent government members were present at the meeting. These officials included Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Denzil Douglas, Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, Konris Maynard, Minister of Agriculture, Samal Duggins Minister of Sustainable Development et al., Joyelle Clarke and Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley.
Other meeting attendants’, along with Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, included Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Naeemah Hazelle and Senior Assistant Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Samuel Berridge.
Meanwhile, the delegation of the Saudi Arabian Minister included Chief of Staff Saja Alhoshan; Deputy Minister of Tourism for International Affairs, Sultan Almusallam; Deputy CEO of Saudi Fund for Development, Faisal Alkahtani; Portfolio Manage/EXPO 2030 tea Mohammed Alshenqiti; Director of Protocol; Abdulelah Allafi, Director of Logistics, Yazeed Almutairi; and Meshari Almuhanna, Photographer.
The Prime Minister, Dr Drew and the Minister of Tourism in the government of Saudi Arabia engaged in several critical discussions about the international relations between the two countries. The Minister of Health, national security and social security et al. shared that during this meeting, he and the Minister of Tourism for Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Agil Al-Khateeb, discussed several major prospects of investments in St Kitts and Nevis.
The Minister of Tourism stated that he wants to further the diplomatic relations between the two nations. In line with this, Dr Terrance Drew outlined his nation’s vision for becoming a sustainable island state. They talked about the need to build resilience in the various sectors, particularly energy and health.
