The Premier of Nevis and leader of the opposition in the federal government of St Kitts and Nevis, Mark Brantley recently took a significant step in ensuring a better life for the people of Nevis, especially the non-established workers of the island. The Premier of Nevis shared that he and his team members met with the non-established workers of Nevis at NeMac. The NE workers and representatives discussed with the team of the Premier several crucial issues prevalent in their situation.
The Premier took to his social media account to share the update on the meeting. The Premier of Nevis is committed to the welfare of the island’s people. His team has taken several critical steps towards ensuring a quality of life for the people of Nevis. The Non Established workers of Nevis were in focus at the meeting on Friday, May 26, 2023.
Premier Mark Brantley and his team will explain this CCM-led government’s Retirement Benefit Programme for NE workers. The NE workers or the Non established workers of Nevis give several decades of their life to their careers. Yet, at the time of retirement, they are not eligible for any benefits that are associated with the retirement.
Accordingly, Premier Mark Brantley is making efforts to remedy the situation. According to the update shared by the Premier, they met with hundreds of NE workers at the NEMAC. They informed them of the Concerned Citizens Movement-led government’s initiative to provide retirement benefits to Non Established workers.
Further, Premier Brantley stated that workers who sometimes give 40 years of service leave with nothing, in Nevis, that is no longer the case. He asserted that when we say People Matter Most, we mean it. The Premier of Nevis shared some images from the NEMAC meeting and an insight into the event and its proceedings.
