The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, shared some glimpses of the Labour Day celebration that the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party hosted on Monday, May 1, 2023. The political party members, including the senior members, senators, ambassadors, and supporters, attended the parade and concert to celebrate Labour Day.
Labour Day is counted among the most important celebrations observed in St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party as this is the oldest political party associated with the Labour Movement. Accordingly, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis shared some glimpses of the event on his social media. The Labour Day Parade and Concert drew large crowds from St Kitts and Nevis supporters.
Dr Terrance Drew shared his greetings on the occasion of the Labour Day. He shared that he was happy to celebrate the people of St Kitts and Nevis and the nation’s workers on Labour Day 2023. He wrote on his social media Today we were outside again, and it felt great on the occasion of Labour Day in support of our nation’s workers.
PM Drew asserted that the government under his charge continues working to improve our people’s socio-economic conditions. Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew touched on increasing the people’s minimum wage. He asserted that the issue of minimum wage is on the agenda.
Dr Drew shared that during the tenure of the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party, we aim to close the almost decade minimum wage gap. The government last addressed the minimum wage issue during the previous St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party administration in 2014. At the time, St Kitts and Nevis was headed by Dr Denzil Douglas.
