The 2023 edition of the Agriculture Open Day, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Marine Resources and Cooperatives, under the leadership of Samal Duggins, took place recently at the Royal Basseterre Valley National Park. The first day of the event took place on April 27, 2023. The event is off to a great start as scores of people were present.

The attendants include the Ministers of Government, senior government officials, students and members of the public. The Minister of Agriculture Samal Duggins also took the opportunity to invite the people of St Kitts and Nevis. to the agriculture open.

He urged the people of St Kitts and Nevis to attend the event and support the agripreneurs and artisans of the country. He urged them to sample the local cuisine, enjoy the entertainment and games, enter the competitions and raffles, and explore the Diplomatic Boulevard.

Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Marine Resources and Cooperatives Samal Duggins delivered the featured remarks at the opening ceremony and officially declared the event open. The Minister also shared glimpses of the event on his social media account. The Minister of Agriculture further noted that We have an exciting two days planned geared towards providing a glimpse into where we plan to take our Agricultural Industry.

He also informed the people of St Kitts and Nevis that the Ministry of Agriculture is also arranging a transportation service to facilitate the people in travelling to the Royal Basseterre Valley National Park for the two day agriculture open. According to him, Shuttle service will start running on the hour from the Shoreline Plaza, Bay Road from 10 AM.

The service will remain active for two days during the Agriculture Open. The annual two-day event showcases the best local produce and products from the agriculture and fisheries sector. This year’s theme is “Achieving Food Security through Sustainable Development and Innovation.”
