Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, took to his social media account to share his appreciation and applaud the Ministry of Agriculture, fisheries and marine resources for the successful execution of the annual Agriculture Day Open. The event was held for two days in the Royal Basseterre National Park.
The Minister of Agriculture, fisheries, marine resources et al. was present at the event to facilitate the farmers and other stakeholders of the Agriculture sector in showcasing their products and produce to the country’s people. The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew, noted that he was proud to see the successful execution of the annual agriculture day open in the country.
Through the event, hosted for two days on April 27 and April 28, the Ministry of Agriculture and the government of St Kitts and Nevis hope to give the country’s farmers a chance to promote their products in an open market set-up. Accordingly, the event was attended by several government members, including Dr Geoffrey Hanley, the Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Konris Maynard, The Minister of Public Utilities, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister of the country.
Sharing his own experience from the event, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew stated that he is proud of the innovative nature of our people displayed at the Agriculture Fair. He informed the people of St Kitts and Nevis that he enjoyed the fresh produce, the craft, and the creativity displayed by the entrepreneurs of St Kitts and Nevis using locally-grown produce.
Dr Drew shared some glimpses of the event on his social media account The event featured several interactive activities for the people to enjoy including Watermelon Eating Contest, Horseback Riding, Lots of Games & Cultural Performances.
Prime Minister Drew stated in his social media post that he is looking forward to seeing our vision of agriculture in St Kitts and Nevis unfold.
