St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew engaged with the nationals of St Kitts and Nevis at the Independence Diaspora Dialogue held on September 21, 2024 in the Bronx, New York.

The event was organised in collaboration with the Embassy of St Kitts and Nevis to United Nations and the Permanent Mission of St Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations. It was a highlight of the 41st anniversary of the celebrations of St Kitts and Nevis’ Independence which brought together inspiration, vision, and patriotism.

PM Drew shared the highlights of the gathering on his official social media account and noted that, “Last evening, I engaged with nationals of St Kitts and Nevis at our Independence Diaspora Dialogue.”

At the gathering, the Prime Minister discussed various topics of national interest, and stressed upon the critical role that the diaspora plays in the development of the nation.

While sharing the glimpses on his Facebook, PM Terrance Drew also mentioned how he encouraged the nationals to continue contributing to the nation’s progress even if they reside away from the homeland.

The Senior Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas; Federations’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mutryce Williams and the Permanent Secretary in the Prime Ministers’ Office, Naeemah Hazelle assisted the Prime Minister.

Significantly, Minister Denzil Douglas emphasised the importance of the diaspora investment among other important matters.

In addition to this, PM Dr Drew highlighted that the last three guest speakers at the Prime Minister’s Independence Lecture Series came from the diaspora. This also underscores the commitment of the active involvement in the building of the nation.

The event concluded with rewarding energy and commitment for future generations.

PM Drew concluded the dialogue and mentioned how committed the administration is to working hand in hand with the diaspora to build a stronger nation. “Together, we can create an even better St Kitts and Nevis,” said the PM.
