Basseterre, St Kitts: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew applauded the St Kitts and Nevis Anguilla National Bank on the launch of its new programme, ‘Banking on Small Business.’
The newly launched initiative is aimed at supporting the growth and development of small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs across the island nation.
The National Bank’s brand new approach was introduced during a ceremony on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the St Kitts Marriott Resort.
The ceremony was attended by the members of the Federal Cabinet, Officials of the Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and the management staff of the National Bank.
The Prime Minister delivered opening remarks at the launch event and stated that the Banking on Small Business initiative will help to remove the one of most challenging obstacles for the aspiring entrepreneur’s access to capital.
He also mentioned how this program is about more than just providing funds and also about providing the people with the tools you need to excel.
Notably, the Minister of Creative Economy, et al., Samal Duggins also gave remarks at the launch of this significant initiative.
The Banking on Small Business is an initiative that offers two main products. The first is the Business Start-Up Loan which is a small business financial tool to help entrepreneurs with business with 0-3 years operation. This will cover the initial costs of launching a business.
The second id the Business Flex Loan that will offer flexible financing options for existing businesses that are aiming to expand, or address other business-related needs.
PM Terrance Drew urged small business owners and entrepreneurs of St Kitts and Nevis to take full advantage of this new initiative offered by the National Bank.
“The Banking on Small Business initiative is here to help turn your ideas into viable enterprises. Don’t let your dreams remain dreams. Seek out this initiative, work with the experts at National Bank, and let’s make those dreams a reality,” said PM Drew.
