Ministry of Public Infrastructure et al is inviting qualified applicants to fill in the post of a Welder in the Human Resource Management Department. The deadline for the applications is 9th February 2024
Job Description
A Welder’s job is to modify and repair metal objects with the capability to work independently in a professional and timely manner.
The hired applicant must be able to work with items at any scale, from small pipes and vehicle and or equipment parts to massive steel beams.
The hired employee must be able to work independently without any detailed specifications to complete the role on any project.
Tasks and Accountabilities:
- Studying and interpreting drawings and measurements
- check the materials before welding
- Operate torches and power supplies
- use the right machines for the job
- carefully monitoring the welding process
- Evaluate the grade of the welding process
- Levy the rate of welds and recognise flaws
- create new structures, and restore equipment and machinery.
- wear the right safety gear for protection
- Train less experienced workers for efficient workflow
The applicant should have attended a Technical College where they obtained an associate’s or equivalent certification in Welding. A Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Welder is an advantage. The applicant should have excellent communication skills.

- Acquaintance of various welding processes, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding.

The salary for the position is K22-K27 ($41,196-$51,180) per annum.
