The Ministry of Information, Communications, and Technology is inviting applicants to apply for the post of Network Administrator at the National ICT Center, C.A.P. Southwell Industrial Site.
Job Description
The Network Administrator’s role must focus on the following duties:
- overseeing of design,
- installation,
- administration,
- management,
And maintenance of the Department of Technology’s network infrastructure.
The Network Administrator will also assist in overseeing the administration, management, and maintenance of the Government Wide Area Network.
The duties and responsibilities
- Establish and maintain network segments,
- Set up and manage the software and hardware for networks.
- Oversee and support internal and contracted services.
- Keep an eye on computer systems.
- Diagnose and fix problems with network connectivity,
- Keep an eye on alerts received by automated monitoring systems and users.
- Implement security policies, enforce them,
- Assign network addresses.
- Configure routing tables and routing protocols. Assign directory service authorization and authentication configurations.
- Maintain personal computer and printer drivers and settings, as well as other network infrastructure, on individual machines.
- Keep up network servers, including files.
Required skills
- Capacity to convey technical knowledge to end users both orally and in writing.
- Outstanding project management and organizing abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Thorough understanding of recommended procedures for managing, controlling, and keeping an eye on network infrastructure.
- The capacity to install, manage, troubleshoot, and diagnose network infrastructure equipment, as well as identify and resolve networking issues.
- A working knowledge of several network operating systems.
- Knowledge in setting up and maintaining Active Directory.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery tools and techniques
- Familiarity with storage technologies like NAS and SAN
- Knowledge of network monitoring and performance tools.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure protocols and application transport.
- The capacity to draft documentation and network diagrams for the purpose of designing and organizing network communication systems.
- Capacity to pick up new goods and technology rapidly by using online resources and documentation
