St Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Sports, Creative Economy, et al., Samal Duggins shared highlights from the incredible tournament of the ECVA U21 Beach Volleyball Championships held in St Kitts and Nevis.

The East Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Championship was held at the shores of St Kitts and Nevis and was scheduled from August 30th to September 1st, 2024.

Significantly, the tournament was supported by the St Kitts and Nevis Anguilla National Bank, Olympic Solidarity, the FIVB, and the ECVA.

Eleven participating Caribbean countries battled against each other for the title of champions and for an unforgettable tournament. The list of the Caribbean countries that participated are as follows:

  • Anguilla (AGU)
  • Antigua and Barbuda (ANT)
  • Bermuda (BER)
  • British Virgin Islands (IVB)
  • Grenada (GRN)
  • Dominica (DMA)
  • Saba (SAB)
  • St Eustatius (EUX)
  • St Kitts and Nevis (SKN)
  • St Lucia (LCA)
  • St Vincent and the Grenadines (VIN)

Minister Samal Duggins shared the glimpses of the championship and noted that as the Minister of Sports, he is e proud of the St Kitts and Nevis Team for their outstanding performance.

He also expressed the feeling of pride as the team secured the second place in the competition and mentioned that the feeling of witnessing the match first hand was thrilling.

Notably, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Terrance Drew and Prime Minister of Grenada Dickon Mitchell also attended the tournament. Minister Duggins said that the presence of both the Prime Ministers added more significance to the event.

The St Kitts and Nevis Amateur Volleyball Association extended congratulations to the winners of the ECVA U21 Beach Volleyball Championships. Team Dominica claimed gold medal in the male category and Team Anguilla won the gold in the female category.

Minister Samal Duggins also took his Facebook to congratulate all the teams for their entertaining performances and outstanding efforts.

Additionally, the St Kitts and Nevis Volleyball Association also extended their heartfelt thanks to all the participating athletes and noted that success is always within reach when fuelled by determination and efforts.
