St Kitts and Nevis: The St Kitts and Nevis Institute of Architects (SKNIA) has announced the election of its new Executive Committee that will transform the St Kitts and Nevis architectural landscape.
The announcement of the appointment of the new team was made back on July 12th, 2024, following the general meeting of authorities.
The St Kitts and Nevis Institute of Architects have elected seven new leaders and announced each of their positions as well.
Significantly, the list of the new leaders unveiled by the SKNIA are as follows:
- Dexter Fassale as President
- Wycliffe Morton as vice President
- Kurt Pollock as Secretary
- Fonsonia O’Garro -Lewis as Treasurer
- George Hunkins as Executive Member
- Sarne Glasford as Executive Member
- Lindbergh Alvaranga as Executive Member
The new executive team is all set to revolutionise the architecture of the nation and usher in an era of innovation, sustainability, and collaboration, closely aligning their efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 that is Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The aim of the new architecture committee includes the establishment of an Architects registration Board which will significantly lead to professional development.
Promoting professional development opportunities for members focusing on latest trends and technologies while prioritizing sustainable practices.
The team also aims to launch public education campaigns in order to raise awareness among the people. Remarkably, these aims have been taken to raise the standards of the architectural practices in the nation.
Moreover, the SKNIA looks forward to strengthen collaborative relationships with the government as well as the other professional associations to give better quality services provided by local contractors.
The committee is also lending continued support to the CFBC ADT program, as part of the institute’s educational component.
Notably, the St Kitts and Nevis Institute of Architects was established in 2005, and is advancing the art and profession of architecture and promoting and facilitating the study of architecture.
The newly appointed architects look forward to a productive year ahead and expressed its appreciation to all the people who have supported them over the years.
