Minister Konris Maynard calls out Duncan Wattley for making baseless accusations and trying to defame his character,image : facebook

Minister Konris Maynard issued a statement defending his integrity from the accusation that Duncan “Big Lice” Wattley made on his Facebook page on 11 January.  

 Minister Konris Maynard called out Duncan, who made very serious, scandalous, outrageous and downright false statements about him, his character and his integrity on the Facebook Program.

In his statement, Konris Maynard emphasised that Duncan’s Facebook Live has garnered over 9,000 views on his page and 25 shares on other Facebook pages. The Live has also received over 7,000 views on a particular YouTube Channel and countless more republications on media and electronic platforms with worldwide reach. 

 Furthermore, Minister Konris highlighted that after listening to Wattley’s speech, it was clear that Wattley deliberately set out to use his platform and his position in the Government to launch vicious and unfounded attacks against him with the intention to cause serious harm to his character and his reputation, both personally and professionally, under the guise of “being informed“.

Minister Konris Maynard denied all accusations made by Wattley against him; he called them baseless fabrications. 

”ALL the allegations made against me by Wattley, no matter how loudly he shouts them, are blatant lies,”  said Minister Konris Maynard 

Minister Konris Maynard took time to set some records straight on the accusation that was made in his name.

He addressed the following issues.

Minister Konris Maynard highlighted that even though the St kitts and Nevis Electricity Company falls under his jurisdiction, he does not directly or indirectly instruct or suggest the disconnection of any customer of SKELEC

Minister  Maynard set the record straight and denied using his position to engage in any illegal, corrupt, or fraudulent practices for personal enrichment of any kind.

Meanwhile, the Minister highlighted that he does not hold any legal and beneficial interest in any company, whether a shell company or otherwise, that engaged or engaged in bidding for public contracts. 

Minister Konris Maynard accentuated that he is a trained electrical and computer engineer of 16 years standing, an entrepreneur, and a combined 16-time Calypso, Soca and Road March King both locally and regionally. Minister Konkris Maynard also highlighted that his wife is a trained Attorney-at-Law of 15 years and an entrepreneur. 

 

With these declarations, he reiterated that he is a responsible and respectable citizen of the St Kitts and Nevis. The Minister has asserted that the Wattley has taken undue advantage of his position in the government and platform. He further claimed that Wattley should be ashamed for spreading falsehoods through his platform.

 Minister Konris Maynard highlighted that he has instructed his lawyer to take the appropriate action, seeking an immediate retraction and apology by Mr Wattley to be aired similarly to the falsehoods he has told about him within 48 hours of receipt of correspondence from his lawyer.
