Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force detained Kellian Hazel for reckless driving and involvement in the death of Keniqua David of Saddler’s, St. Kitts, on December 6, 2023.
Kellian Hazel was found guilty of reckless driving and killing Keniqua David. Kellian Hazel pleaded guilty and was sentenced on December 6 2023, by the judiciary judge of Justice Iain Morley.
Kellian Hazel received a six (6) month prison sentence that has been suspended for two (2) years, providing he commits no legal infractions during that time. He has also been disqualified from driving for two (2) years, effective December 6, 2023.
Kellian Haze has also been penalised to pay a fine sum of one hundred and eighty thousand Eastern Caribbean dollars (EC $180,000) to the victim’s mother on behalf of Xhyionique Nicholas, her three (3)-year-old child.
Judy Iain Morley highlighted that the payments were mandated to begin on January 1, 2024, at the rate of five thousand Eastern Caribbean dollars (EC $5,000) per month for three (3) years.
Judy Iain Morley emphasised that in the event that Kellian Haze fails to make the payment on a monthly basis, he will be imprisoned for twelve (12) months.
Addition Information: The police are seeking public help to find a missing teenager by the name of Valiana Edwards. Valiana Edwards is a 15-year-old who belongs to La Guerite. She’s currently missing, and her family is deeply concerned. It has been reported that she was last seen at home on December 5 2023
Valiana Edwards is 5’4ft in height, and she a light light-skinned with black hair pulled up with singles on the back.
The police have pleaded with the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis to report any information they have, or if they see Valiana, they should contact local authorities immediately.
