The Investment Gateway Summit 2024 (IGS) marks a historic milestone to be an international event, the first of its kind. This event is an opportunity to unite and link up the diverse mindsets and various expertise at a single platform which will ensure cross-border collaborations and strategic partnerships.
St Kitts and Nevis anticipates hosting the Investment Gateway Summit 2024 and has made significant arrangements and prepared for the large scale of attendees and to enhance the event to exceed the expectations of the global audience.
Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis announced about the summit keeping in view the overwhelming response received from the global investors, citizens, and the entrepreneurs.
The summit provides a global platform for industrial collaborations of stakeholders and the investors, to drive forth the fortification of connections worldwide. The platform shall offer a stage for workshops and networking forums featuring discussions on various topics such as green energy investment trends, advancements in technology, and regulatory frameworks.
Day 1- IGS set in motion
The IGS commenced on July 10, at the magnificent St. Kitts Marriott Resort with a remarkable Welcome Reception and a refreshing Inaugural event, paving several innovative conversations and future-collaborations.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew acknowledged the presence of all the dignitaries and extended personal greetings to the global citizens who have arrived to be a part of the exclusive summit, a promising summit to prepare a framework for an innovative and prosperous future.
The marvellous evening marked the presence of hundreds of global citizens, visionaries across the globe such as the United States, Nigeria, South Africa, United Arab Emirates (UAE), China and many more gathered to lay the foundation of new connections and exchange innovative ideas.
Altogether, Day 1 of the magnificent event extended a heartfelt welcome to all dignitaries and global attendees present, looking forth to the occasions to discuss diverse range of topics and interactive sessions, that will focus to ensure new networks and global business opportunities.
Day 2- Exhibition of innovation, Integrity and Culture
Michael Martin, CEO of the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Unit, addressed the global leaders and citizens and assured the utmost integrity of the Investment Programme stating, “Invest in St. Kitts and Nevis with peace and confidence.”
Martin gave an insight into St. Kitts and Nevis’ CBI programme, the oldest CBI programme in the world, emphasizing on the commitment to innovation and strengthening of the robust CBI programme with its integrity to be at the highest order.
The second day of the summit started with the registration desk being overwhelmingly approached by the enthusiast participants, all gathered at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort engaging in meaningful conversations and forging new connections with fellow attendees.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew also comforted the global citizens describing several aspects of the programme and highlighting the importance of global connections and long-lasting network.
PM Drew accentuated the significance of sustainability for the betterment of people stating, “There is need of Collaboration for sustainable future together where country thrives, most importantly people thrive.”
While describing about IGS 2024, Drew defined it to be the first of its kind merging forward with the theme “Connect, Collaborate, and Connect”, and is not just any gathering, but it is an testimony of the shared vision of prosperity, new partnerships and innovation.
As the day continued, the activities moved ahead to the cultural part where the attendees had the incredible opportunity to experience the vibrant and captivating performance of the Royd Phipps Drummers, followed by the mesmerizing performance by “The Masquerades” with their vibrant outfits and soothing moves providing the guests with a taste of rich culture and tradition.
The day was wrapped up with the attendees onboarding on a breathtaking journey through the thriving heart of St. Kitts Scenic Railway with a grasp of the enchanting views of the lush landscapes, the lively coastlines and the rolling hills marking it to be a memorable excursion.
Day 3 – Blend of Sustainable Development, Investment and Cultural insight
Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Economic Development and Investment, addressed the attendees, initiating the third day of the summit. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of the islands’ sustainable development and citizenship.
Stanley Jacobs of the St. Kitts Investment Promotion Agency (SKIPA) imparted on the exploration of different thrilling prospects of Investment in St. Kitts and Nevis including Real Estates, Technology and Innovation, the agricultural and healthcare sectors.
The sessions were followed by the cultural presentation of a captivating dance performance revolving the theme, “Mother Earth is Dying” which was a marvellous showcase of expressive moves and a piteous storytelling quoting the urgency of environmental awareness and necessary preservations.
The attendees later onboarded for a unique guided tour of the Caribelle Batik and Old Road Rum, to be a witness of the fiddled artistry of batik making, gaining knowledge about the traditional craft that depicts the vibrant colours of the nation and enriched the global citizens with the extravagant insights into the Kittitian culture, craftmanship and the rich heritage.
The curtains for Day 3 were dropped with an exclusive Gala Dinner, under the aegis of the Prime Minister, Dr. Terrance Drew, where the PM addressed the participants extending a warm welcome and greeting every attendee from across the globe.
Day 4 – Celebration and Exploration of local offerings at Nevis
Nevis trip and exclusive display of local offerings have been featured at the fourth day of the Investment Gateway Summit 2024. Attendees gathered at the island nation for the entertainment, fun and celebration day which was completed with the magnificent sunset.
The local community along with Premier Mark Brantley gave a warm reception to the attendees in the welcome ceremony, forging new interactions and connections. This trip helped attendees know more about the specialties of Nevis with its rich heritage, vibrant culture and lush natural beauty.
Followed by the Lunch at Sunshine’s Beach Bar and Grill in Nevis, where the attendees, global citizens, and investors participated in entertaining conversations and engaged in savouring a delicious meal showcasing local flavours, complemented by a traditional St. Kitts and Nevis Rum Tasting experience, indulging in the region’s finest cuisine and spirits while soaking in the relaxed island atmosphere.
The day ended with the Sunset Cruise to St. Kitts, displaying the cruise tourism to the attendees which has reached great heights in recent years.
Day 5 – Conclusion of The Investment Gateway Summit
The epilogue of the IGS was marked with a farewell breakfast at Kittitian Hill, providing the last but not at all the least insights of the island country.
The breakfast was followed by a tour to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Brimstone Hill, packed with a lush greenery. Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park stands as a testament to the island’s rich history and architectural prowess.
As the exquisite event rolled to its end, several events of great importance were witnessed across the five-day summit such as the Interactive panel discussions, dynamic workshops, fruitful hurls to different regions of the nation and several occasions of celebration that have played a vital role in bridging the gap between the stakeholders, investors, business class people and the global citizens.
