St. Kitts and Nevis: The fourth day has kickstarted at Investment Gateway Summit 2024 with exclusive tour to Nevis and welcome reception at NEPAC. During the tour, the Premier took the chance to give a presentation in which he urged economic citizens to invest in the country and recognize their home where they feel connected.
He invited the citizens to come home to Nevis as this is their home, many of them have the same rights, so he wanted them to see it like that, not just for travel purposes.
Premier noted,” Come Home in Nevis, we want our people to feel a sense of connection with St. Kitts and Nevis, we want our global citizens to be invest in here, to have holiday here, to have your children and grandchildren associated with it.”
Further, he talked about the exclusive offerings of Nevis and turned the attention of the gathering toward the potential of the agriculture sector. He said that the country has the perfect soil and conditions for agriculture, but the people are not getting involved in it due to the hectic tax regime.
The Premier added that they are working to feed the people of the country with naturally grown products, but there is a need for great participation of the people.
He further outlined the times of COVID and expressed,” I know, agriculture is critically important, we need to evolve it. During the COVID When the world was shut down, my cabinet met and we work greatly, as the Port of Miami was closed, we were in the crisis in terms of foods because of the closure of the importing areas.”
He termed it the tremendous option for food production and converting the natural resources to substances.
Premier Mark Brantley further specifically mentioned the Nevis Mango Festival and added that there are 44 varieties of mangoes in Nevis, and the farmers have showcased their talents in presenting them in different and unique ways.
He said that it showed that they have perfect environment for agriculture, but they are not getting benefited from it. Premier asked for the proper use of the land of Nevis for food production and natural grown food items.
The fourth day of the Investment Gateway Summit is scheduled to feature the activities about the showcase of the offerings of St. Kitts and Nevis. Starting with tour to Nevis, the attendees enjoyed a captivating day trip and made new memories with the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Nevis.
