The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Dr Geoffery Hanley, attended the Graduation Ceremony for the students of the outgoing class of 2022 at Washington Archibald High School. The high school hosted the graduation ceremony on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Dr Geoffery Hanley, shared an update on his Facebook post. He revealed on his social media that Ambassador Kenneth Douglas joined him to witness the graduation ceremony held at the high school, which is also his alma mater.

In the post shared by the Deputy Prime Minister, he detailed, “Seeing the students all decked out in their graduation attire brought back memories.”

Coincidentally, the graduation ceremony was also the occasion for the graduation ceremony of his youngest and final daughter, Naphtalya Hanley.

Speaking of it, Dr Hanley revealed in the Facebook post that he was full of even more tremendous pride as my youngest and last daughter, Naphtalya Hanley, walked across the stage to receive her diploma and two additional awards.

The deputy Prime Minister revealed, “I was overwhelmed with unspeakable joy for my child, but further excited for every one of the students who worked exceptionally hard these past five years under some of the most challenging circumstances.”

Dr Geoffery Hanley believes that these young people persevered (in front of the challenges they faced.), and now they can honestly say, I DID IT!!!

Further, Hanley revealed that Valedictorian Johnathan Bass’ speech was indeed inspiring! I was moved by how he challenged and motivated his peers with the four key elements vital to their success: team spirit, guidance, accountability and dedication.

Young Bass is already an emboldened visionary willing to show and take responsibility by leading the way.

As the Minister of Education, I want to encourage the WAHS graduates to apply what they have learned to their everyday lives.

Famous author Dr Theodor Seuss said, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.” I can’t wait to see where life leads you!

Finally, at the conclusion of the update, Dr Geoffery Hanley also expressed congratulations to the 2022 Graduates!!!
