The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, has shared an image on his Facebook account, which he clicked with Pastor Prisca Heyliger to commemorate the passing of the Evangelistic Faith Church St Kitts (Incorporation) Bill.
According to the prime Minister, the bill seeks to give the Evangelistic Faith Church, situated at the Alley, Sandy Point, St Kitts, the power to own land and otherwise have legal standing.
As reported by the SKNIS, The bill was moved through the national assembly by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister responsible for Ecclesiastical Affairs, Dr Geoffery Hanley.
Dr Hanley explained that following the bill’s passage, the Church would become a corporate body in this country under the law. Other churches in the nation enjoy this status.
According to the Prime Minister Terrance Drew’s Facebook post, Pastor Heylinger was pleased to have the bill passed. Consequently, Dr Terrance Drew “took the opportunity” to click a picture with her.
During the photo session, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Caretaker for St. Christopher 5 (Constituency #5), Kenneth Douglas, was also in attendance and featured in the picture.
Earlier, in the morning of November 4, Prime Minister Drew took to his Facebook account to urge the residents and citizens to stay tuned for the Sitting of the National Assembly. The National assembly session took place on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Government Headquarters.
The Prime Minister Terrance Drew also shared that four bills were to be tabled for the session. The bills included the Companies (Amendment) Bill 2022, the Evangelistic Faith Church Incorporation Bill 2022, the Small Business Development (Amendment) Bill 2022, and the Domestic Violence (Amendment) Bill 2022.
According to the information available on the government-owned information portal and news website, St Kitt and Nevis Information Services (SKNIS), the national assembly of the Federation passed all four of the bills.
