Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffery Hanley, who is also the Minister of Social Development, Gender Affairs, Aging et al., took time out of his busy schedule to visit Ruby Thomas and celebrate 102 years of her life.
During his visit on Thursday, October 20, 2022, Deputy Prime Minister Hanley attended the celebrations along with the family of Ruby Thomas. He spent a part of his day with her.
Dr Geoffery Hanley took to his Facebook account to share a glimpse of his visit, stating that he was honoured and delighted to spend the day with her.
Dr Geoffery Hanley is the elected Parliamentary representative of Constituency #1, where Ms Thomas resides. In his capacity as the representative, Minister Hanley extended his heartfelt greetings to the 102-year-old on the momentous occasion of her birthday.
Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffery Hanley presented Ms Thomas with a plaque and a beautiful and delicious fruit basket.
In the Facebook post that was shared on the official page of the Minister of Gender Affairs, ageing et al., to mark the momentous occasion, The Facebook post stated,
Ms Thomas is as feisty today as she was so many years ago.
Dr Hanley is a firm believer that we must celebrate and acknowledge the pioneers of our community while they are alive. He lives by this commitment in word and deed.
According to the post shared by the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Geoffery Hanley, Our nation is more prosperous because of the life of community stalwarts like Ms Thomas, stated Dr Hanley.
It is Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffery Hanley’s fervent prayer that God’s abundant grace and blessings may pour down on Ms Thomas.
Further, Dr Hanley also prayed for God to bless her family and caregivers.
During his tenure, Dr Hanley, the minister of gender affairs and ageing, has taken up several initiatives to create a healthier and safer environment for the vulnerable and ageing population of the federation.
