The members of the Federal Cabinet visited the Primary Schools and Early Childhood Education Centres in the West Zone of Basseterre. The officials have shared some images from the visit to the schools across the West Zone of the Capital City
The officials have shared that Friday, September 11, 2026 was the second day for the cabinet members and ambassador’s school visits. The officials have shared that the visits have given the people of the country an opportunity to experience the spirit of independence.
The school visits remain an important part of the country’s independence celebration. The officials have shared that that these visits give the leadership of St. Kitts and Nevis an opportunity to interact with students, teachers and school management.
The celebratory school visits are being led by the Acting Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley. The Acting Prime Minister, Members of the Federal Cabinet and ambassadors had the opportunity to meet a number of educational institutions.
The schools that the officials visited were:
- St. Paul’s Primary School
- St. Paul’s Day Care
- Newton Ground Primary School
- Newton Ground Nursery
- Sandy Point Primary School
- Sandy Point Pre-School
- Tyrrell Williams Primary School
- Bronte Welsh Primary School
- Ross Preparatory School
- Dr. William Connor Primary School
The officials reported that they were able to have several productive conversations with the teachers, students and management of all the schools. The officials have shared that they were able to encourage the children to embrace their respective roles in the growth of the island
The officials have shared that the school visits continue across the Federation as the independence day draws closer and closer. All of the members of the federal cabinet are conducting these visits with the message that, “Independence is not only about celebrating our past, but inspiring the next generation to help shape our future.
