The St Kitts and Nevis Department of Sports is all set to host the Final zone of the Zonal Public Primary School athletics Championships series, commencing this Friday from 1:30 PM at the St Paul’s Cricket field.
As per the information, the East Zone 2 of the series will feature four participatory teams from four community schools. These include St Paul’s Primary School, Dieppe Bay Primary School, Saddlers Primary School and Edgar T Morris Primary School.
The entrance Fee for the matches will be $10 for adults and $5 for children.
This final zone is part of the 4 Zonal Series Public Primary School Championships. These are sponsored by the Government of St Kitts and Nevis, the St Kitts and Nevis Department of Sports and the First Federal Cooperative Credit Union LTD. It witnesses the young athletes’ power, speed, and determination as they compete for glory.
The East Zone 1 of the Championship was held on Friday, January 26th, at St Mary’s Park, Cayon.
The match was held among four teams: Deane, Glasford Primary School, Cayon Primary School, Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School and Violet Pretty Primary School.
The result of the Championship was Cayon Primary School emerged victorious, with an outstanding tally, i.e. securing 27 golds, 13 silvers, and 17 bronzes. The Joshua Obadiah emerged 2nd after clinching 9 golds, 9 silvers and 10 bronze. The other two teams, Deane Glosford and Violet Petty Primary, secured 6 Golds, 17 silvers, 8 bronzes and 1 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze, respectively.
The third zonal of the West Zone Public Primary School Championships was held on Friday, February 2nd, at Sandy New Recreation Grounds. It was unfolded with the Bronte Welsh, Tyrrell Williams, Sandy Point, and Newton Ground Primary Schools battling for glory.
The result of the match was Sandy Point School’s declared dominant at the West Zone Public Primary School Track Championships; after the intense 300m and 400m races, the team led with an outstanding 10 Golds, 8 Silvers, and 5 Bronzes.
Meanwhile, Tyrrell Williams secured the making following place by making a solid push with 8 Golds, 8 Silvers, and 8 Bronzes.
