The St. Kitts Basseterre Lions Club has taken the lead in environmental protection for St KItts and Nevis. The organisation took part in a recycling initiative in demonstration of their commitment to environmental protection through meaningful community service.

The Basseterre Lions Club organised the Recycling exercise at the Buckleys Tent Collection Site, beginning at 9:30 AM. The organisation shared that they were also joined by several partners from across the Community.

The Lions Club has shared several images from the recycling exercise on the social media and highlighted their dedication to the welfare of the community. The organisation hosts such events regularly as a part of their community responsibility.

According to the organisation, the Lions Club as well as other partners from across the communities were able to host a highly successful recycling excercise. They were able to collect and donate approximately 3,600 plastic bottles for recycling after the community wide excercise.

The organisation has highlighted the importance of the initiative for the environmental protection of the island. The St. Kitts Basseterre Lions Club said, “This effort represents an important step toward reducing plastic waste and minimizing the amount of recyclable material sent to the Conaree Landfill.”

The organisation has shared that the success of the initiative goes beyond the numbers. This initiative highlights what can be achieved when organisation and community members work together toward a common goal. The Club is helping to create greater awareness about environmental stewardship while contributing to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable St. Kitts. The recycling initiative is a part of the same effort.

The St. Kitts Basseterre Lions Club remains dedicated to supporting the Environment through various initiatives. They also want to create service opportunities that inspire individuals and communities to take positive action for the planet.

The organization further said that working together can help them make a real difference.
