The Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Denzil Douglas, completed 34 years of service as a politician and member of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party. The politician commemorated the occasion through his social media account. He shared the sequence of the celebratory events. The celebratory events include Sunday prayer, a health walk and staging a constituency clinic.
In his social media post, the former Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis shared his experiences as a politician, and parliamentary representative of Constituency Number 6, which includes the Newton Ground, St. Paul’s, Dieppe Bay, Parson’s and Pogson/Lavington/Saddlers and Harrises.
Dr Denzil Douglas shared that the Journey of 34 years began with the First Step on March 21, 1989, my election to Parliament by the Good People of Constituency #6. Dr Douglas further shared that the Road has not always been smooth, and neither has it always been rough.
Dr Denzil Douglas has acted as the second Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis. His tenure of Prime Ministership is the longest-running among all the Prime Minister’s office holders. He shared that there have been good times and bad times, challenges, hurdles, different personalities, differences of opinions, good company and many great friendships and bonds.
He shared that through them, he stayed firmly in his still here, with tremendous Respect, Strength and Gratitude. Through them all, I have learned to appreciate Life, Family, Friends and God. Dr Denzil Douglas shared that he is grateful for the Love and Support of the people of St Kitts and Nevis over the years.
He urged the people of his constituency to help him celebrate this major milestone of 34 years with several planned activities,
Accordingly, he announced that the events would start after giving Thanks and Praise to the Almighty God on Sunday, March 19 @10am, at the Wesleyan Holiness Church in my hometown, the Republic of St. Paul’s Thankful, humbled and Grateful.
Social media users also celebrated the achievement of the foreign affairs and the former Prime Minister and congratulated him for completing over three decades in the service of the country
