CPL 2022: Defending champions of the CPL 2021 St Kitts and Nevis (SKN Patriots) have defeated the Trinbago Knight Riders by seven runs in the 26th Match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2022). The teams played the match at the Providence Stadium, Guyana.
At the start of the match, the SKN Patriots won the toss, signalling that the luck was in their favour. The patriots elected to bat first, which was a wise decision.
Lewis and Andre Fletcher were the openers for the Patriots during the batting. The Patriots did not get the most promising start at the game as, despite a massive yet quite tricky boundary by Lewis quite early in the game, they could not help the team of the SKN Patriots.
At the end of 3.2 overs, Andre Fletcher had been dismissed by a comfortable catch caught by Andre Russell, and the Patriots stood at 12/1. By the time powerplay ended, outstanding bowling from Trinbago Knight Riders had restricted St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to 20/1.
Akeal Hosein had a very good over, picking up a wicket after giving three runs. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots landed at 23/2 after seven overs.

Cottrell got the wicket of Andre Russell in the last over, leaving the Knight Riders needing 12 runs from 2 balls, with Narine coming to the crease.
